New Players

When you first arrive on Thain, you will be taken through the introductory sequence ingame. This sequence will showcase some of the unique mechanics, such as climbing and jumping, that you may find elsewhere in the server, as well as give you a quick overview of the server’s history and culture. 

You will then be able to pick from a number of boons- early benefits that may help (or hinder) your character in various ways. 

Once you arrive on the island proper, the world will open up to you- though your first stop should probably be the Trade and Tackle, an inn located just to the west of where you arrive in Webster’s Landing. 

From there, you may learn more about this island, embark on your first quests, meet other characters, and begin to set your own goals- whatever those may be. 

New Player Resources

As you begin to explore Thain, you may have questions about various aspects of the setting. While some secrets are only discoverable ingame, we have put together a number of resources to help newer players become more immersed in our setting: 

• First, if you have not joined the Thain Discord and Forum, you may wish to do so- this is where the majority of our discussion takes place outside of the game itself, and where major announcements, in-character posts, reference materials, and so on are posted. 
• Next, you may wish to view some of our primers on the setting, including our overview of the races of Thain and the religions of Thain. 
• Finally, though you’ve probably seen them before, it never hurts to refresh yourself on the rules of Thain.
